Bob Downer (fiddle, mandolin)

As a wee young lad Bob received the gift of a violin from his parents. Music was in the family as mom and dad had met playing together in a dance band that toured the dance halls and pavillions around Ontario. Starting lessons at a young age Bob embarked on a path of classical music, playing eventually in the Canadian National Youth Orchestra and the KW Symphony.

Following a hiatus of some years for University and travel he returned to a different world of music playing with the Bluegrass Bands “The Wellington County Kickers”, “Diamond Reo”, and then the Canadian traditional folk group “Brigand”.  After another hiatus Bob is back to his fiddle again and having a great time with his musical friends in “Shepherd’s Knot” (formerly known as House of Good Cheer ).
